As of 12/27/2022 this dataset will be updated weekly on Tuesdays but maintains it's daily granularity.

*As of 1/1/2022 3 cases are required to be considered an outbreak, previously it was 2. This data set includes the cumulative (total) number of COVID-19 outbreaks reported for Virginia or each health district in Virginia by report date and by facility type group. This data set was first published on May 09, 2020. The data set increases in size daily and as a result, the dataset may take longer to update; however, it is expected to be available by 12:00 noon. When you download the data set, the dates will be sorted in ascending order, meaning that the earliest date will be at the top. To see data for the most recent date, please scroll down to the bottom of the data set. Starting on September 25, 2020, the Educational Setting Outbreaks will be divided into the following categories: Child care, K-12 and Colleges/ Universities. The Virginia Department of Health’s Thomas Jefferson Health District (TJHD) will be renamed to Blue Ridge Health District (BRHD), effective January 2021.
