This dataset includes the number of visits for heat-related illness (HRI) at emergency departments and urgent cares in Virginia by year (includes visits from May-September only), by patient geography, and by 10-year age group. VDH health regions are assigned using the patient's residential zip code for Virginia residents. Patients with non-Virginia or unknown zip codes are grouped as 'Out of State.' Data set includes HRI visits between May through September only for years 2015 through the current year (year-to-date). When data set is downloaded, the years will be sorted in ascending order, meaning that the earliest year will be at the top.
