This dataset measures the number of owner & renter occupied units in each locality where monthly housing costs exceed 30% of household income. The data is also broken down by ranges of annual household income.

The data in this table breaks down median household income in each Virginia locality overall, as well as by race/ethnicity. (Median household income in the past 12 months in 2019 inflation-adjusted dollars.)

This dataset contains State Food Insecurity metrics displayed in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Environment Atlas website, including the U.S. Household Food Security Scale. The U.S. Household Food Security Scale is designed to register even occasional or episodic occurrences of food insecurity. Some households may be classified as food insecure or as having very low food security based on a single episode during the year. An estimated 11.8 percent of American households were food insecure at least some time during the year in 2017, meaning they lacked access to enough food for an active, healthy life for all household members. That is down from 12.3 percent in 2016. The prevalence of very low food security also declined, to 4.5 percent from 4.9 percent in 2016. A more complete picture of the temporal patterns of food insecurity in U.S. households sheds light on the nature and seriousness of the food access problems households face and can aid in the design and management of programs to improve food security.

People: Demographic data from the American Community Survey (ACS), including age, race and ethnicity, migration and immigration, education, household size, and family composition.
Jobs: Economic data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and other sources, including information on employment trends, unemployment, and industrial composition of employment from the ACS.
County classifications: Categorical variables including the rural-urban continuum codes, economic dependence codes, persistent poverty, persistent child poverty, population loss, onshore oil/natural gas counties, and other ERS county typology codes.
Income: Data on median household income, per capita income, and poverty (including child poverty).
Veterans: Data on veterans, including service period, education, unemployment, income, and other demographic characteristics.

This table shows the mean income per capita in each locality by the following race/ethicity identifiers: White alone; Black or African American alone; White alone, not Hispanic or Latino; and Hispanic or Latino.

American Indian and Alaska Native Alone; Asian Alone; Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander Alone; Some Other Race Alone; and Two or More Races.

Table B19301, "Per Capita income", is simply the value for B19313 "Aggregate Income" divided by the total population estimate for the summary geography. This statistic is more or less the 'average' income. Note the potential for misunderstanding: A) the aggregate income is divided among all people, not only those who actually had income, and B) as with any average, outliers (very big earners) can have a disproportionate effect on resulting figure.

VDACS’ Division of Marketing and Development serves producers, commodity boards and associations, retailers and buyers by providing marketing assistance.

This dataset provides farmers markets accepting nutrition benefits in 2021 under the Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP). Administered by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Nutrition Service (FNS), FMNP was established by Congress in 1992, to provide fresh, unprepared, locally grown fruits and vegetables to WIC participants, and to expand the awareness, use of, and sales at farmers’ markets. Farmers Market Nutrition Programs will be available at all highly accessible, high-need
farmers’ markets.
