This dataset contains Access and Proximity to Grocery Store metrics displayed in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Environment Atlas website, including store/restaurant proximity, food prices, food and nutrition assistance programs, and community characteristics — factors which interact to influence food choices and diet quality. These interactions are complex and more research is needed to identify causal relationships and effective policy interventions.

This data set includes the cumulative (total) number of Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) cases and deaths in Virginia by report date. This data set was first published on May 24, 2020. When you download the data set, the dates will be sorted in ascending order, meaning that the earliest date will be at the top. The Virginia Department of Health’s Thomas Jefferson Health District (TJHD) will be renamed to Blue Ridge Health District (BRHD), effective January 2021. This dataset includes the number and rate of emergency department (ED) visits for firearm injury (FAI) in Virginia by year and by month. Data set includes FAI visits from 2015 through the most recent complete month.

Each row represents the number and rate emergency department visits for firearm injury that occurred in Virginia by year and by month. Firearm injury visits are identified using key terms in the chief complaint (reason for visit) and discharge diagnosis codes. Key terms include: gun with wound, GSW, gunshot, buckshot, revolver, rifle, shotgun, firearm, pistol, handgun, been shot, I was shot, I got shot, combination of hit, ricochet, graze with bullet. ICD-10 diagnosis codes: W32.0, W32.1, W33.0, W33.1, W34.0, W34.1, X72, X73, X74, X93, X94, X95, Y22, Y23, Y24, Y35.0, Y38.4 SNOMED diagnosis codes: 41430008, 56768003, 63409001, 69861004, 77301004, 86122002, 111050005, 219257002, 283545005, 218081007, 218086002, 218082000, 218087006, 218088001, 269796009, 242869008, 219199009, 219200007, 219201006, 219204003, 219205002, 219203009, 219198001, 219142001, 219143006, 219144000, 219145004, 219146003, 287184008, 287193009. This dataset contains estimates of Virginia life expectancy at birth by census tract for the period 2010-2015. These estimates are the result of the collaborative project, “U.S. Small-area Life Expectancy Estimates Project (USALEEP),” between the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), the National Association for Public Health Statistics and Information Systems (NAPHSIS), and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

This data set shows the list of individual healthcare providers currently partnering with VDH to administer the COVID-19 vaccine. This is NOT a list of locations where the public may access the COVID-19 vaccine and does not indicate the number of doses available for public distribution. Many organizations and local health departments partner to deliver vaccines at community events, and some providers are coordinating with VDH to serve specific populations, such as long-term care facilities.

Data is published weekly on Wednesdays mornings (beginning February 17, 2021), and is meant to reflect data through the previous Sunday. These data do not indicate the current inventory available at these locations, and may not align exactly with the daily totals on main VDH dashboard. Vaccine administrations may take up to 72 hours to be reported. In some cases, administration data may reflect the location where a patient's medical records were updated instead of the physical location the dose was administered. Doses may also be used to support a community event in a different locality, which may result in apparent discrepancies.

This dataset contains Socioeconomic Characteristics metrics displayed in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Environment Atlas website, including County resident population by groupings of humans based on shared physical or social qualities into categories generally viewed as distinct by society.

As of July 1, 2021, the reporting of COVID-19 outbreaks within selected settings by facility name, number of cases, and deaths is no longer required by law, and this dataset will not be updated after June 30, 2021.
This dataset includes data reported to VDH on outbreaks that occurred in medical care facilities, residential or day programs licensed by Virginia Department of Health (VDH), Department of Social Services (DSS), or Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), summer camps, and kindergarten (K)-12th grade schools in Virginia. The data included are the name of the facility, locality of the facility, date VDH is notified about the outbreak, status of the outbreak, and the number of associated cases and deaths. This data set was first published on December 18, 2020. This data set was last updated on June 25, 2021.
