This dataset contains Restaurant Availability and Expenditures metrics displayed in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Environment Atlas website, including fast-food restaurant availability, full-service restaurant availability, and expenditures at fast-food and full-service restaurants.

Data was last updated on the USDA website in September 2020.

Any data elements with numerical values reflect figures at the locality-level unless otherwise specified with an asterisk (*). See column descriptions for details. The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (commonly known as the WIC program) serves to safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, and children younger than 5 who are at nutritional risk. As the third largest food and nutrition assistance program, WIC served about 6.2 million participants per month in fiscal year 2020, including almost half of all infants born in the United States. Federal program costs for WIC totaled $4.9 billion in fiscal year 2020.

This dataset is intended to be used as a baseline for understanding the typical bed capacity and average yearly bed utilization of hospitals reporting such information. The date of last update received from each hospital may be varied. While the dataset is not updated in real-time, this information is critical for understanding the impact of a high utilization event, like COVID-19.

In this service, Definitive Healthcare provides intelligence on the numbers of licensed beds, staffed beds, ICU beds, and the bed utilization rate for the hospitals in the United States.

This dataset records a breakdown of total households in each Virginia locality, and then offers numbers of owner-occupied households for each Virginia locality, followed by a breakdown of that ownership based on Race/Ethnicity.

This table shows the mean income per capita in each locality by the following race/ethicity identifiers: White alone; Black or African American alone; White alone, not Hispanic or Latino; and Hispanic or Latino.

There is no data returned from the Census api for the following race/ethnicity identifiers:
American Indian and Alaska Native Alone; Asian Alone; Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander Alone; Some Other Race Alone; and Two or More Races.

Table B19301, "Per Capita income", is simply the value for B19313 "Aggregate Income" divided by the total population estimate for the summary geography. This statistic is more or less the 'average' income. Note the potential for misunderstanding: A) the aggregate income is divided among all people, not only those who actually had income, and B) as with any average, outliers (very big earners) can have a disproportionate effect on resulting figure.

A '-' entry in the estimate column indicates that either no sample observations or too few sample observations were available to compute an estimate, or a ratio of medians cannot be calculated because one or both of the median estimates falls in the lowest interval or upper interval of an open-ended distribution.

The records found in this collection include requisition lists filed in local courts and payroll records of the Virginia Engineer Department. Information found in these records include names of enslaved and free Black people, locality of origin, occupation, location of fortification, names of enslavers, and monetary value of enslaved people. Virginia enacted legislation as early as July 1, 1861 during the Civil War to requisition enslaved and free Black people to work on military fortifications and other defensive works around the commonwealth. From 1862 to 1863, at the request of the president of the Confederate States, the General Assembly passed three more laws that requisitioned enslaved laborers to work on fortifications and other works of the defense. Each county and city were given a certain number of enslaved laborers that had to be provided to the government under the requisition act. Enslaved people requisitioned for service did not have a choice. In many cases, the alternative was severe punishment or to be hanged.
