This dataset uses U.S. Census table B17020 - Poverty Status by Age
The data shows the number of people per locality, the overall number of people living below the poverty level per locality, and then the number of people under age 18 living below the poverty level per locality. This last data element is broken down into three segments - aged <6 years, 6-11 years, and 12-17 years, which when added together equal the total number of children under age 18 living below the poverty level per locality.

The data in this table breaks down median household income in each Virginia locality overall, as well as by race/ethnicity. (Median household income in the past 12 months in 2019 inflation-adjusted dollars.)

This table lists the overall population of each Virginia locality, as well as a breakdown of each locality's population by race. Each column's description explains the race identification. In addition, for each locality, there is a column for those who identified their ethnicity as "Hispanic or Latino Origin."

This data set includes data reported to VDH on outbreaks in Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities and Multicare Facilities. The data included is the name of the facility, the date VDH was notified and the number of cases and deaths as well as the status of the outbreak. This data set was first published on July 03, 2020. The data set increases in size daily and as a result, the dataset may take longer to update; however, it is expected to be available by 12:00 noon weekly. When you download the data set, the dates will be sorted in ascending order, meaning that the earliest date will be at the top. To see data for the most recent date, please scroll down to the bottom of the data set. Starting November 02, 2020, the data set update schedule has changed from daily to weekly.

Survey Description: Labor force and unemployment estimates for States and local areas are developed by State workforce agencies to measure local labor market conditions under a Federal-State cooperative program. The Department of Labor develops the concepts, definitions, and technical procedures which are used by State agencies for preparation of labor force and unemployment estimates.

These estimates are derived from a variety of sources, including the Current Population Survey, the Current Employment Statistics survey, the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, various programs at the Census Bureau, and unemployment insurance claims data from the State workforce agencies.

To establish uniform labor force concepts and definitions in all States and areas consistent with those used for the U.S. as a whole, monthly national estimates of employment and unemployment from the Current Population Survey are used as controls (benchmarks) for the State labor force statistics.

Summary Data Available: Monthly labor force and unemployment series are available for approximately 7,500 geographic areas, including cities over 25,000 population, counties, metropolitan areas, States, and other areas.

For each area, the following measures are presented by place of residence:

* Total civilian labor force,
* Total number of people employed,
* Total number of people unemployed, and
* Unemployment rate

Data Characteristics: Rates are expressed as percents with one decimal place. Levels are measured as individual persons (not thousands) and are stored with no decimal places.

As of July 1, 2021, the reporting of COVID-19 outbreaks within selected settings by facility name, number of cases and deaths is no longer required by law, and this dataset will no longer be updated.
This dataset includes data reported to VDH on outbreaks that occurred in Higher Education Settings in Virginia. The data included are the name of the facility, locality of the facility, date VDH is notified about the outbreak, status of the outbreak, and the number of associated cases and deaths. This data set was first published on January 15, 2021. This data set was last updated on June 25, 2021.

This dataset includes the number of visits for heat-related illness (HRI) at emergency departments and urgent cares in Virginia by year (includes visits from May-September only) and by city/county of the patient. City/county localities are assigned using the patient's residential zip code for Virginia residents. HRI visit counts are combined for some cities and counties due to zip codes spanning multiple localities. Patients with non-Virginia or unknown zip codes are grouped as 'Out of State.' Data set includes HRI visits between May through September only for years 2015 through the current year (year-to-date). When data set is downloaded, the years will be sorted in ascending order, meaning that the earliest year will be at the top. This dataset records a breakdown of total households in each Virginia locality, and then offers numbers of owner-occupied households for each Virginia locality, followed by a breakdown of that ownership based on Race/Ethnicity.
