The attached file includes the name and address, along with other information, of Community Anchor Institutions (CAIs) identified for the purposes of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program (BEAD). As determined by the Office of Broadband, these 18,816 CAIs are covered by the definition set in Virginia’s BEAD Initial Proposal Volume 1 and includes served and unserved CAIs at the gigabit symmetrical speed threshold. This file should be referenced by stakeholders to ensure all Community Anchor Institutions covered by the definition set in Virginia’s BEAD Initial Proposal Volume 1 are included in this list.
These CAIs are provided for local governments, non-profit organizations, and internet service providers to analyze for purposes of the upcoming BEAD challenge process, as outlined in Virginia’s BEAD Initial Proposal Volume 1.
